After a not-so-short hiatus, I am officially open for commissions again. Even if you're not a gamer, everyone knows one, and I've found that most of my commissions are presents, so with the holiday season coming up on us fast, now is a good time to get all the gift shopping out of the way. While I can usually bust out a commission in a day or two and have it in the mail, by the time December rolls around I'll be pretty busy, so anyone who wants to commission a custom bead sprite piece, now is the time!

I can generally work within any budget, but the possibilities are virtually endless.

Want a photo of you and a significant other pixeled, beaded and framed? I can do that.
Have a friend that likes a particular game and would love a present related to that game? I can do that.
Want a custom character pixeled and beaded from scratch? I can do that, too.

Basically, whatever you want, as long as it's pixel art, I can do it.

Short Hiatus

1 min read
So I'm moving a week from today. In the packing process I've been holding off on packing up my beads until now, but it's gotta be done. I'm going to take a short break from bead sprites for a few weeks to focus on the move and some other projects that will be taking up most of my free time in May, but after that I'm going to be jumping right back in. I have a few large poster sized pieces and some more 3-D pieces planned.

*cough* F-Zero *cough*

Anyone interested in having me pixel a custom sprite for you, I'm opening up for commissions. No matter what it is, 2-D or 3-D, it won't be more than $15.

Shoot me a note with you're idea and we'll work out the details.

A good friend of mine from the forum and deviantART, crausse.deviantart.com/ , recommended me for a Daily Deviant and got, what I consider to be, a bullshit reply. He recommended my Spawn Layered Bead Sprite for the DD, and received this message in response:

Sorry, but the photo is quite out-of-focus and although photography of an artwork is not my main criterion, it does have to be at least moderately good enough so that it showcases an artwork well, otherwise there’s the risk of someone flaming the artist for the photography. Nevermind that flamers are picking at the photography when they should be critiquing the object within the photo, but it does happen and that’s a shame. And unfortunately, it seems that the photography of his artworks in his entire gallery are all out-of-focus.

Take a look at the photograph of this piece:

fc33.deviantart.com/fs40/f/200…

You’ll see that it is well lit, well taken, and well in-focus. You can see every bead in there, for fuck’s sake. Not only that, but this guy claims that every piece in my gallery is out of focus - and not just that, but they fail to be “moderately good enough”. I’m not a professional photographer, but I know how to take a damn picture that is flattering to my work. This guy is simply full of shit.

My first thought would be to send this guy a message and tell him he needs new glasses - however, I have a better idea. If you’re a member of deviantART, recommend this piece for a DD. I want to get as many people as possible to recommend this.

Hopefully, this will get me the Daily Deviant, and this guy will realize that he’s an idiot.

Hello Watchers, I'm having a rough day...

If you've ever wanted to purchase art from me, or have wanted to commission a piece or two, now is the time to do so. Come on, Christmas presents!

Okay, back to the subject...

Long story short, my 6-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ein, needs surgery to remove bladder stones. Because of his young age, and the rarity of this sort of occurance in a young pup, the alternatives are not likely to solve the problem, only to delay the issue, and he would likely have re-occurances.

I'm never one to directly ask other for help, be it financial or other, but I cannot afford the surgery (due in large part to my investment in a new home and domain for the Pixelgasm Forum www.pixelgasm-forum.com). I can pay for it now, but the aftermath will be months of catching up on bills, student loan payments, and perhaps a steady diet of ramen.

I'm basically offering up my artwork right now for less-than-usual prices in order to help pay for his surgery (which for the curious lot, all vet bills included from todays visit, will be roughly 1,200 bucks).

In a failed attempt to be modest, I must insist that my art makes a kick-ass gift for the special nerd in your life!

Please, if you were on the fence about purchasing art, or would just like to help out a guy in need and get a kick-ass pice of nerd-art in the process, shoot me a note so we can talk.
